JUDGES

There is a mix of hearing and deaf film professionals who will be judging the top 10 films to award the See What I’m Saying award:

Scott Bowles
A reporter and film reviewer for USA Today, Scott has interviewed dozens of celebrities including Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Julia Roberts and is one of the lead writers for box office and Academy Awards news.

Jules Dameron
An active film director with an MFA in film production from USC, in addition to a BA in television/cinema at Gallaudet University and is the founder of Deaf Women in Film.

Gayle Dickie
An entertainment executive with 20+ years experience in film and TV sales and distribution, Gayle has worked with Universal, DreamWorks, MGM, Sony, Paramount and Disney. She produced “The Gifted” that screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Her company, Hey Girl Hey Entertainment has multiple films in development for 2011.

Sabina England
Sabina England is a Deaf filmmaker who studied at the London Film Academy. She wrote and directed "Wedding Night" which is currently in post production.

Camille Hardman
An award winning documentary filmmaker originally from Australia, Camille works for the Oscar and Emmy award winning The Wolper Organization. Her film “Big Dreamers” was accepted in over 30 festivals, screened on TV and Qantas Inflight Entertainment.

Steven Klein
An actor and producer, Steven runs Firefly, an award winning theater and film production company founded in 1995. Recent producing: feature doc “Make Believe” won the 2010 LA Film Festival and starts its festival tour with Toronto. Recent acting: played Russian agent Alexi on USA's “Burn Notice.”

Kurt Kuenne
An award winning filmmaker and composer, credits include “Dear Zachary” (Slamdance, MSNBC, listed on Ten Best Films of 2008), “Validation” (over 4 million hits on youtube) and the soon to be released film “Shuffle.”

Catherine MacKinnon
An award winning producer and director, Catherine's award-winning short film "I'm Not From Hear" screened in over 20 festivals. She was the co-producer of the indie feature “Hamill” and is the Festival Director of the Toronto International Deaf Film & Arts Festival.

Jeannie Roshar
She is a co-founder and Festival Director of the L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival, which was recently named one of the 'Top Ten Film Festivals in the U.S.' by the Brooks Institute, and is also an actress (“I Own You”) and a writer.

Jevon Whetter
An MFA graduate of the producing program at AFI, Jevon has worked with Deaf West, CA School for the Deaf at Riverside and the National Theater of the Deaf.

Gary Anthony Williams
Executor producer of the award-winning “Snips & Snails,” co-founder/artistic director of the LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival and writer for various web series, Gary’s acting credits include “Boston Legal,” “Malcolm in the Middle” and “Undercover Brother.”
